As the COVID-19 pandemic brought hiring to a halt in 2020, among those heavily impacted were 2020 graduating classes across the country.
Luckily for them, and this year’s graduating seniors, things are looking up.
“It seems that anyone who had hit the pause button in 2020, hit the resume button in 2021,” Lauren Kesterson, President of MR Raleigh recently told ABC 11 Eyewitness News.
“I think part of it is that all of these companies are trying to play catch up,” says Kesterson. “There was already a tight candidate market and now it’s even more so, because you have more competition out there that’s looking for the same types of people.”
Kesterson used the construction industry as an example, explaining that they are seeing a notable shortage of applicants.
